Through the works of nine contemporary artists in dialogue with those of two authors from the last century, the exhibition investigates the profound metamorphosis of the photographic medium in the digital and algorithmic era. It offers a critical and visual survey of how the contemporary image is redefining its own boundaries, between materiality and the ephemeral, between artistic projections and relationships with artificial intelligence.
These dynamics and changes are explored through the works of nine artists – Alessandro Calabrese, Giorgio Di Noto, Teresa Giannico, Camilla Gurgone, Leonardo Magrelli, Grace Martella, Luca Massaro, Alessandro Sambini, Alberto Sinigaglia.
In Transizioni, the image of photographic origin is thus present as a constitutive element within complex works, and is used, from time to time, to construct environments, animate narratives, create illusions or deconstruct perception, dissolving media boundaries. In this context, hybridization has found fertile ground.
